Kenya

Hello Everyone! My name is Kenya and I am from The Bahamas

I love Beijing, a city that is always busy and always changing!

My hobbies are singing, photography, watching black & white movies, Arts n' Crafts, and Yoga.

As a teacher, my strengths are that I’m fun and interactive with the students. I’m always thinking of new ways to implement 
or engage in topics with my students. I also empathize with my students and understand their points of view and how they can best 
benefit from my lessons. Lastly, I always find ways to motivate my students so they continue to love learning.

I enjoy being in a classroom as it allows me to help the students gain a different perspective on life. Teaching is an interactive 
art that never becomes boring when you do well.

My favorite teaching moment happened this week when my students finally understood the words that I’ve been using 
continuously in class. Having a student use words you taught them in the correct context brings joy to any teacher's heart.

When children are finished with your class (when you will no longer be their teacher), what will they have gained?

When my students leave my class, I hope they will have a better understanding of other people and cultures. I hope 
they will be exposed to more than just the things they see daily. I want my students to always remain self-motivated 
because if you never try,  you will never know what you can achieve.
